Privacy Policy
In short: we collect only what Wickline needs to run your account and features. We don't sell your data, show ads or track you across other sites. You can delete your account and its saved data at any time.
This policy explains what information Wickline ("we", "us") collects when you use the website at wickline.trade and its features, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
Account information
- Email sign-up: your name and email address, plus your password. Your password is never sent or stored as plain text: your browser scrambles it first (key stretching), and our server stores only a further salted hash.
- Google sign-in: we receive your name, your email address and a unique account ID from Google. We never see your Google password.
- Recovery code: for email accounts, we store only a hashed copy of your recovery code.
Your saved workspace
When you're signed in, we save your workspace to your account so it follows you to other devices. This includes watchlists, chart drawings and layouts, price alerts and their history, chart settings, scripts you write in Script Lab, portfolio holdings you enter, calendar reminders and app preferences.
Things you post or send
- Chat rooms: the display name you choose, your messages and when you sent them. Chat messages are public to everyone in the room. Messages are deleted automatically after 30 days.
- Pilot AI: the questions you type, together with a snapshot of the chart you have open (symbol, timeframe, prices, indicator values and recent headlines) so the AI can answer. We don't store your AI conversations on our servers.
Technical information
- To prevent abuse (for example too many sign-in attempts, spam in chat or overuse of the AI), we store a one-way hash of your IP address with a timestamp. These records are deleted within about a day.
- Our hosting provider processes standard request information (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver and protect the site.
2. How we use information
- To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
- To save and sync your workspace across your devices.
- To run features you use: chat rooms, Pilot AI, alerts and reminders.
- To prevent fraud, abuse and attacks on the service.
- To answer you when you contact us.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, we don't use it for advertising, and we don't build marketing profiles.
3. Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that help run Wickline, and only as needed:

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users or the service.
4. Cookies and local storage
Wickline doesn't use advertising or analytics cookies. We use:
- Your browser's local storage to remember your workspace on this device and your sign-in session.
- A short-lived security cookie (about 10 minutes) during Google sign-in, to confirm the sign-in really started on Wickline.
5. How long we keep it
- Account and workspace data: until you delete your account.
- Sign-in sessions: up to 60 days, or until you sign out.
- Chat messages: 30 days.
- Abuse-prevention records: about one day.
6. Your choices and rights
- Delete your account at any time from the account menu (your initials, top right → Delete account). This permanently removes your account, your saved workspace and your sessions from our servers.
- Access or correct your information: you can change your name in the account menu, or contact us for a copy of your data.
- Use Wickline without an account: choose "Look around first". Your settings then stay only on your device.
Depending on where you live, you may have extra rights, such as objecting to processing or complaining to a data protection authority. Contact us and we'll help.
7. Security
All traffic uses HTTPS. Passwords are stretched and hashed, sessions use random tokens that we store only as hashes, and sign-in attempts are rate-limited. No online service is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password that you don't use anywhere else.
8. Children
Wickline is not intended for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.
9. International transfers
Our providers operate worldwide, so your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where we use providers, we rely on their standard data protection commitments.
10. Changes to this policy
If we make important changes, we'll update the date above and let you know in the app.
